Ps 68:4 Sing praises to God and to his name! Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds. His name is the Lord—rejoice in his presence!
For me, there is nothing more uplifting than singing worship songs. I just wish I could carry a tune. Yes, I am musically challenged but, as in Psalm 100, I can make a joyful noise. David was blessed, not only with the ability to write the words but also played the harp. Every pluck of the strings was a praise to God his creator and provider.
While driving I listen to Christian radio or a favorite CD. With all the traffic and crazies out there, I believe it keeps me focused on God and he keeps me calm. Without the music, I wouldn’t make it to my destination much less through the day. When we sing and praise the Lord, things happen. We experience God in a more personal way.
When we experience God this way, it can be so overwhelming that our heart overflows with love, honor and respect for our creator. Singing can get us to a place of dropping to our knees in reverence to worship God, as he deserves. In that one moment, you know that Jesus is there and everything is good.
