Ps 17:7 Show me your unfailing love in wonderful ways. By your mighty power you rescue those who seek refuge from their enemies.
There are many ways to show love. Many times we show love to another without even realizing it. Sometimes it’s a kind word, an encouraging touch, or an unexpected smile. Showing love means you are interested, engaged in and care about that individual.
Even as a nurse, I was unsure how to help a friend diagnosed with cancer. I prayed for her but also asked God what I could do to show her that she was loved. Listen. That’s all I got from God. I spent time with her and instead of “speaking” I listened. That one word opened over an hour of heart felt feelings and thoughts she presumed she needed to keep to herself because no one wants to talk about CANCER. She was tired of people telling how she should act, feel, and think during this time in her life. I validated her feelings by telling her no one understands what she goes through except God. Healing is a process but so is love.
Ask God to show you how to show love especially to the “difficult” people in your life. When we are willing to help even the unlovable we show God’s love. It may be something physically, emotionally or mentally difficult but when we are willing to love we show his strength. Imagine how much love can shine for others to see if we all just try a little harder.
