Ps 100:5 For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.
Have you ever purchased a product and, needing to return it can’t find the receipt? Where is your evidence? A court of law needs concrete evidence to convict or exonerate a person. Medicine uses evidence-based practice because it has been proven to work.
God’s evidence is everywhere. Every time God protects us from harm and we avoid a car accident—evidence. When we are down to our last dollar and someone pays our light bill just before they turn it off—evidence. When behind in our rent and the landlord forgives all the late fees—evidence. If contemplating suicide and someone brings you to church and hope springs eternal—evidence and when an estranged grandchild wants to visit and get to know you, that is God’s evidence of his presence in our life, and his love and faithfulness to us.
In a conversation with my daughter-in-law, I was concerned about things that happened in the past and asked her for forgiveness of anything I may have said or done. She assured me I was not the problem. “You have always been the most loving and giving person I know and an example of true Christian principles.” Every day I thank God for another day to be a living example of his evidence. Compassion, kindness, and grace are just a few ways he lets us show that he is right there with us.
