Ps 97:10 You who love the Lord, hate evil! He protects the lives of His godly people and rescues them from the power of the wicked.
What kind of power do you have? Is it energy, strength, or maybe an ability to exert effort? Power can be physical, mental or spiritual. The Psalmist speaks about the mental, physical and spiritual power of God to rescue his people that despise evil. God is much more powerful that anything Satan can dish out, but we must remember to turn our back on evil and fix our gaze on the Lord.
As we search for good even in the worst of situations, we become stronger in God’s power and can see even the slightest hint of evil. Things in the workplace can become difficult when people take shortcuts that lack positive moral standards. The changes may be subtle, at first, but as God gives us his power, we see it for what it really is—evil.
We can look to him for spiritual power to fight the temptation to lower our standards. As we pray and move spiritually closer to him, we become physically stronger and bolder to stand our ground as Christians. Mentally we are at peace, knowing we maintained our integrity. Now we see a circle of power, all emanating from God, and we are right where he wants us. As his power surrounds us and covers us, nothing evil can get through. How awesome is that? Complete protection and power from the one who made us and everything in our lives.
