Ps 90:12 Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.
During the Covid pandemic the Governor issued a stay at home order to keep us safe. For many it was difficult. Even though I thought I was ok after a month it hit me. I got up every morning to pray and ready my Bible. By evening I didn’t feel that I had accomplished anything. I began thinking of ways to grow, not only in the Lord, but in time by being more productive.
I needed to feel the sense of accomplishment for a job well done. I started with a list of jobs I could do at home. I moved furniture around, reorganized a file cabinet, and threw out old papers and unnecessary receipts, then collected books to donate to our local “Little Library House”. There were several things to repair outside, so I enlisted my son-in-law and grandson’s help. We spent a weekend shopping for materials, repairing, and painting. It was hard work for the guys but it brought us closer as a family. We sat on the deck viewing everything we did and felt a deep sense of accomplishment.
Time spent with family is short. No matter what we do, as long as it is together, we can accomplish anything. God never meant for us to be “socially distant” but with adjustments we can grow in wisdom through every crisis in our lives.
