Ps 83:18 Then they will learn that you alone are called the Lord, that you alone are the Most High, supreme over all the earth.
Since we bring our niece to church, I was able to bring her to every night of Vacation Bible School (VBS). Friday night was Family Night, so I stayed. Several times the video “My God is so Big and so Strong and so Mighty” played and the chorus included “1+1+1=1.”
After the second time the chorus played, a puzzled young boy of about eleven sat at my table. “Don’t they know the answer is three?”
“In this case the answer isn’t math. It’s about the Trinity.”
He returned to his place with the other children. After the song played again, he came to my table, looked me in the eyes and asked, “What is Trinity?”
“As Christians we believe in the Godhead: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God sent his son Jesus to save us from sin. When Jesus returned to Heaven, he sent the Holy Spirit to help us live our lives as we should. God’s spirit within us guarantees we are never alone or without help. His eyes brightened and understanding came across his face.
I knew I made a difference in his understanding of God. All along, the plan was for me to be at VBS at that moment, to teach that boy who God really is.
