WORD OF THE DAY IS GRATITUDE

Ps 78:36 But all they gave him was lip service; they lied to him with their tongues.

Ingratitude can be the root cause of many problems in our life. Lip service and lies bring us to a cold, lonely place. Gratitude brings us to a place we appreciate what we have and a willingness to share it.

Gratitude gives endless benefits. Studies of people who regularly practice an attitude of gratitude show they sleep better, show more compassion and kindness, and even have stronger immune systems. Gratitude for simple things like a phone call from a dear friend of long ago can produce happiness and joy. As we are grateful for little things, the more positive our life becomes.

I remember the song “Count your blessingsthat was written in 1856. (by Jonathan Oatman Jr and Edwin Excel) The lyrics of “Count Your Blessings” (Jonathan Oatman Jr. and Edwin Excel 1856) remind us of the power in counting our blessings. When we count our blessings we discover that life is not so bad, and the more blessings we count the sooner our problems seem to vanish. We should list or maybe journal our blessings. That way we will enjoy more what we have and not dwell on what we don’t.
