Ps 73:17 Then I went into your sanctuary, O God, and I finally understood the destiny of the wicked.
Asaph, who probably wrote this Psalm, struggled with the concept that the wicked seemed to prosper while he did not. He needed answers, so he went to church. After praying and seeking God, he realized that he had God’s presence all around him and that his blessing of eternal life was far greater than anything the wicked had.
He finally understood his thinking about the wicked needed to change and his thinking about himself needed to straighten out. Seeing the error in his thoughts led him to become stronger and renew his commitment to the Lord.
Being in church is a great way to overcome the oppressions of this world and to renew our spirit to a new closeness to God. When we are discouraged we need fellowship with others of like mind. Listening to God’s word, singing songs of praise, and worshiping the one who is in control of everything is the best way to get out of the “doldrums”. God wants to see you in church.
