Ps 68:35 God is awesome in his sanctuary. The God of Israel gives power and strength to his people.
In our society our looks are important. We need to look better, smarter, and younger just to keep up in the business world. We color our hair, lose weight and maybe have saggy skin lifted but what about the inside. The things that slowly disfigure and damage our heart can also alter our mind toward God. If our heart and mind are not tuned in to God where will they stray to?
Selfishness can become a problem that all the outer changes may hide but not eliminate. Small changes like spending more time with a friend, or practice listening to a coworker’s suggestion with a calm and open mind. Generosity will help with self-improvement. The word improvement begins with “I” so we should strive to change our attitude not only toward others but to life in general. God will give us checks and balances to keep us on track but we need to do our part.
“If you continuously complete with others, you become bitter, but if you continuously compete with yourself you will become better.” Anonymous
Bitterness is another problem that can start from envy or jealousy.
As I continue on my path of self-improvement I realize that it is a constant struggle because God’s not finished with me yet and when he is I will have completed my task and arrived in his arms of love.
