Ps 64:10 The Godly will rejoice in the Lord and find shelter in him. And those who do what is right will praise him.
Attacks come in many ways but words spoken against us hurt the worst. It can feel like a slap in the face. Why is it so difficult to do what is right? So many gossip and tell lies it’s impossible to know truth. Recently, someone accused us of withholding information that happened almost twenty years ago. Our accuser was told a lie and if the information was true it was still none of her business. Nothing I said made a difference. Finally, she became very angry and verbally pushed us away.
Her anger could have destroyed her relationship with God. I knew the source of the lie, and prayed God would reveal the truth and heal her heart. Lies and hateful gossip can cloud our mind, heart and spirit. My confidence in God protects me to live patiently in faith, and to know that he rescues his people from the ungodly.
As I abide in his love, living my faith of his goodness I leave a gift to one generation after another. This gift is God, Jesus, his son, and his comforter, the Holy Spirit. These gifts help us know right from wrong and give us strength. Months later I saw our accuser and purposely spoke to her. She was reserved with me but I felt God working to open her heart. As long as we stay open to God, he will bring us back.
