Ps 62:2 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.
Sometimes, I try to remember everything God has done in my life. Giving his only son Jesus is of course the ultimate gift but that was only the beginning. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (ok so I’m still working on that one) to name a few (Gal. 5:22). I now have a great church that supports during tough times, a great husband who tolerates me, and a wonderful family filled with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends to call on to pray with me when needed, is icing on the cake.
Life is good. Has it always been that way, absolutely not? There have been difficult times i.e. the unexpected death of our oldest son, followed by dissension in the family, but the peace of God overcame it all. The freedom to live and praise God whenever we want, even being able to drive down the street can be a blessing. Being able to work in a profession I love for 45 years cements my belief and trust in God. Without him that would never have been possible.
Even with everything God has done for me, he continues to be everything I want and need. My faith that God completes me is the foundation of my daily walk with him. He is not finished with me but “even if” he never does another thing for me, or blesses me again, I am contented knowing that he IS my father in heaven. I wait for the day I will see him face to face.
