WORD OF THE DAY IS QUIETLY WAIT

Ps 62:1 I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him.

Pressures of life permeate our society and our churches.  Juggling family, friends and work are difficult. The decisions we must make on a daily basis add to the stress. Keeping our priorities, knowing and doing right and not wrong or just putting one foot in front of the other can be mind-blowing. How do we do it?

During the most stressful times at work I would lock myself in the bathroom. Five minutes of pure quiet always helped, however a few minutes of talking with God was more important. Those few moments gave me either the answer or the strength to go out and complete the task.

Even now, when frustration strikes, I sometimes just take a “break” and perhaps go outside to watch the birds fly or the squirrels run around, and marvel at God’s creations. We all need to find a place that feeds our soul to maintain balance in this chaotic world. I believe that when we take care of ourselves, it refreshes and strengthens us to keep up the fight against Satan.

This is when my victory comes. It may be something small, maybe a phone call of encouragement. It may be the answer to a long requested prayer but it is always from God. Sometimes knowing that he is there and that my victory is coming helps me make it through each day but when I wait quietly, I know where my hope comes from.
