WORD OF THE DAY: PAY ATTENTION

Ps 54:2 Listen to my prayer, O God. Pay attention to my plea.

Sometimes people feel ridiculous bringing the same old problems to God repeatedly. They never learned the value of praying until completion. Praying again for the same thing not only strengthens our faith, it will also cement God’s promise of answering our prayers. There is something comforting in knowing that God will help and heal the afflicted.

Recently, something occurred that caused me emotional pain. I felt like I was being used to benefit someone who I thought didn’t deserve it. Someone used an idea we both developed to impress a boss.  After a while, I realized that God allowed that situation to reach someone with love and mercy.

God showed me that a little “inconvenience” on my part was nothing compared to the blood he shed on the cross. That day I learned how the mercy of God and the justice of God blends perfectly. Pay attention to others, their actions will speak louder than their words. I received the blessing of a lesson learned and my coworker received the extra time they needed to realize that I cared more about her than impressing the boss. Moreover, just think, God knew the whole thing already!
