Ps 50:23 But giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors me. If you keep my path, I will reveal to you the salvation of God.
Everyone makes sacrifices. Not spending a small fortune on the perfect dress so we can pay bills seems like an easy choice but at the time, it can be a bitter sacrifice. I remember, many years ago, looking around the house, in the sofa cushions and any place we dropped change to go buy a soft drink and take it to my husband while he worked to replace a roof on a neighbors’ house.
Did I want to go through that? No! Nevertheless, later that week God revealed why I needed to do that. God gave me such a blessing that it propelled me into a new and closer walk with Him. That one little sacrifice revealed to God my true heart for Him and thus it revealed God’s overwhelming love for me.
I pray that, as you read, God will reveal things to you that you never realized before and make known his abounding love for you. He has shown me so many things as I write, and brought to my mind so many wonderful memories that I know he is right here. Take a few moments, think about all the happy times in your life and he will reveal himself to you.
