WORD OF THE DAY IS INTEGRITY

Ps 18:25 To the faithful you show yourself faithful; to those with integrity you show integrity.

The dictionary states integrity as “the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles, moral uprightness.” From the beginning, humankind had trouble following this promise of God. Whenever man had to choose, his first instinct was to pick the easy way. However, this usually produced a question of character and true faith in God.

My manager called me to her office to discuss a moral and ethical situation that had come up and needed to be resolved with a permanent outcome. After the topic was on the table, I started my response with “to be perfectly honest…”, and was told management knew I would give an honest and sincere answer. That is why they called me to discuss the problem. The “boss” said they knew the standard that I held myself to and admired my resolve to be honest to a fault. That statement surprised me. I had always tried to maintain integrity in my life but it had been a challenge in the workplace. For someone to notice my effort and determination to be the example of Christ convinced me that I was on the right path.

Whenever in doubt and dealing with sensitive situations always remember the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule. These guidelines will assist you through many dilemmas. Being an example of God’s love and living his principles may not be easy but if human management took note of my integrity how much more will God.
