Loneliness is one of the major causes of depression. If we are not, interacting with people, we have already withdrawn and this produces problems. God said, “it is not good for man to be alone” so he made woman. Isolation and feelings of despair sometimes need medical intervention but always need spiritual intercession.
When feeling lonely seek the companionship of other true believers, not only for human interaction but also for prayer. This not only builds us up emotionally but also spiritually. God will provide someone to listen to you and pray for you. A church is a great place to meet people but also joining an age-appropriate fellowship group can expand Christian social contact.
