Ps 19:1 The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship.
Look up, day or night, it doesn’t matter. God’s creation coming from his own fingers shows the glory and beauty of his love for us. Nature was David’s favorite place.
As David tended his father’s sheep, sleeping under the stars and living off the land, he saw the majesty and creative power of the One who made it all. Human sight can be clouded but creation is evidence of God’s existence. The theory that it just happened is absurd. As we look at his handiwork we need to realize that the design, intricate details and orderliness links to a personally involved creator.
While speaking to someone who believed the spontaneity of our world’s existence also known as the Big Band Theory I pointed out how beautiful everything was designed and asked her to explain why the sky is up and the grass in down and nothing is out of its place. She answered “that’s just how it’s made.” But who made it? Where is the starting point? She had no answer.
I explained that without power nothing is made. Energy is the driving force for the universe. So who is that power? Again, she had no answer. I explained God was before anything, made everything and is everything we need to survive on this earth. Through the story of creation and many answered questions she finally understood the concept. After months of friendship she finally confessed that she was raised in a very regimented and religious home but never felt a connection to God. I gave her a one year bible to read and she eventually found a relationship with God. We need that trusted relationship in the power of God.
