Ps 17:1 O Lord, hear my plea for justice. Listen to my cry for help. Pay attention to my prayer for it comes from honest lips.
Have you ever felt there is no justice in the world? You are probably correct in that assumption. Many God never promised life would be fair. What’s important is doing what is right. Many unjust things happen in our lives and some specifically to us but there is hope.
Living an honest life includes having moral correctness, integrity, principles and ethics. It also includes being loyal, sincere and fair. I’ve often been questioned about my decisions. “Why go with that solution or fix the problem that way.” My answer is always the same, “Because it’s the right thing to do.” Knowing that my heart was in the right place keeps me in right standing with God.
Have I made mistakes or used poor judgement? Yes. Will I make all the right choices in the future? Probably not. I do the best I can and trust when I stand before Jesus on judgement day with a clear conscious he knows how much I love him even at my weakest. I show God’s love when I am willing to help others. I show his strength when I do what he wants me to do. After accepting Jesus being honest and true to oneself is paramount to achieving the ultimate goal of heaven.
